Sitemap URL extractor

Pull every URL out of a website's XML sitemap (sitemap indexes and gzipped files included) and export the list as CSV or plain text.

Follows sitemap indexes into up to 25 child sitemaps (max 50,000 URLs). Public sites only.

How the extractor works

Enter a domain and the tool looks for the sitemap in robots.txt, then at /sitemap.xml and /sitemap_index.xml. If it finds a sitemap index, it opens each child sitemap and merges the URLs, removing duplicates. Validate the file's structure with the sitemap validator.

What to do with a sitemap URL list

Limits

To keep the tool fast, it reads up to 25 child sitemaps and 50,000 URLs, with a time limit. The result says when it's partial; paste a specific child sitemap URL to get the rest.

Frequently asked questions

How do I extract all URLs from a sitemap?

Enter the domain or the sitemap URL above. The tool finds the sitemap, follows a sitemap index into its child sitemaps and lists every <loc> URL, ready to copy or download as CSV or TXT.

Does it work with sitemap index files?

Yes. It reads up to 25 child sitemaps from an index, up to 50,000 URLs in total. For larger sites, paste a child sitemap URL directly to extract it on its own.

Does it support gzipped sitemaps?

Yes, .xml.gz sitemaps are decompressed automatically.

What can I use the URL list for?

Site migrations and redirect mapping, content audits, checking which pages are indexed in Search Console, finding orphan or outdated pages, and comparing your site with a competitor's.

Can I extract a competitor's sitemap?

Yes, sitemaps are public files. It's a quick way to see how a competitor structures their site and what content they publish.

Is anything stored?

No. The sitemap is fetched, read and discarded.
